How it works
Anastrozole blocks the aromatase enzyme, sharply lowering oestrogen in post-menopausal women so hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer cells are starved of oestrogen.
Dosage and how to take it
Swallow with water, preferably at the same time each day. Treatment usually continues for several years under the oncologist’s supervision.
The dose and length of treatment depend on the condition, the patient and the response, and are decided by the treating doctor. Do not change the dose or stop the medicine without medical advice.
Side effects of ANASTRIVA-1
Not everyone gets side effects. Those reported most often with its ingredients include:
- Hot flushes
- Joint pain or stiffness
- Tiredness
- Thinning of bones over time
