How it works
Each ingredient has its own job in VOMYFLO:
- Doxylamine is an antihistamine that calms the vomiting centre; with pyridoxine it is the standard combination for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.
- Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) supports amino acid metabolism and nerve function and helps ease pregnancy nausea.
- Folic acid is needed for DNA synthesis and red blood cell formation and lowers the risk of neural tube defects when taken before and during early pregnancy.
Dosage and how to take it
Usually taken at bedtime on an empty stomach; the doctor may add a morning dose if symptoms continue.
The dose and length of treatment depend on the condition, the patient and the response, and are decided by the treating doctor. Do not change the dose or stop the medicine without medical advice.
Side effects of VOMYFLO
Not everyone gets side effects. Those reported most often with its ingredients include:

- High folate intake can mask vitamin B12 deficiency, so B12 status should be kept in mind

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and out of reach of children
